Busy month

This is the busiest month for the family. It is Halloween afterall.
OK so I did a bad thing. Last night was the beginning of Rosh Hashanah and I served pork chops. Some great Jew I am. Geesh.

Thursday I start cooking my chili for the chili cookoff. Friday I have to pick up the cake for the Fall Festival. Saturday at 10am we start set up.
I thought Sunday was the Race for teh Cure but its not. I think its next Sunday.
Charlies B-Day is on the 9th. Haven't planned anything for the poor guy. Not even a cake :(
So I need to get on that.
If I missing periods or letters in my sentences it is because Josh spilled chips in my keyboard and they are stuck under the keys. I have tried everything to get them out and it is not working.
Then I have Bunko on the 6th. Then Moms Night Out the weekend after. We have to decorate for Halloween. Go get a pumpkin and carve it.
SO much to do!
I am excited though. This is my favorite time of year and it is the first non-surgery month I've had in awhile.

OK so. I know I am treading into dangerous territory here but I feel it needs to be said.
2 years ago I had no health insurance. So I wrote to Komen and asked them where to get a Mammogram done for free or low cost. They never answered me back. So I thought I was barking up the wrong tree and instead of answering me they just ignored me. I thought maybe Komen was for people who already had cancer.
So here I am, with Cancer. So I called a foundation called Cancer Care that is supposed to help with expenses and this is what happened:
So I called Cancer Care and they told me they can only help with co-pays for current care. They kept repeating they could not help me since I was done with my treatment. Well, my treatment facility billed the insurance first and never asked for money up front. Whatever the insurance does not pay, I have to. So I was trying to explain that to her and she just kept "I'm sorry Mam, we cannot help you".So I called Komen. They gave me two phone numbers to call. Same story. It was for co-pays only and Komen is only for low cost Mammograms.
OK so wait a minute. When I asked for a Mammogram, they never answered me. Now I am asking for help as a cancer patient and they still can't help me?
Is Komen a scam??????
Where do they put their money? Who gets the benefit of all that money? I am telling you, it is not someone who needs a Mamm and its not someone who has cancer either. Is is purely research money then?? I would like to know!
This is all B.S. Where is all this money for cancer going to?? It seems that even before I was a cancer patient, I could not get help and as a cancer patient I can't get help either.
So I wrote to several cancer-related places. One person wrote back it is best if we are extremely poor or extremely rich, otherwise I am in the middle and I get nothing.
Well, I will be falling into that extremely poor category soon enough. So far I have over $250,000 in medical bills and I am not done yet. But I figure alive and broke is better than dead and doing ok.

I need to go do a few things. I will try to get on later and write more.
