OK so had a Dr. appt. this morning. They took out 5 HUGE syringes of fluid. Sure enough, I had a large seroma develop once again.
We are in the in between stage of continuing to needle drain or retro fit a drain in.
It feels less tight after all that fluid was taken out however it is still red, swollen, and painful up into my armpit. It was hurting into my ear and that has gone away so I am happy about that.
I am due to see. Dr. R again on the 9th unless I get another collection starting. I think it is starting already because I leaked through my packing already which means there is more coming down. Probably from the armpit area. I am going to continue to keep pressue on it so that seroma cavity does not fill up again. If it does, surgery to remove the cavity and retro a drain in. I am ok with it all and it sounds a lot worse than it really is. I am fine :)
Today is my 1 year anniversary of losing my breasts. It was April 1 on year ago that I endured a 13.5 hour surgery with the amazing team of Dr. Gray, Dr. Rebecca, and Kristen. I am extremely blessed to have had such a wonderful team of Dr.'s, PA's, Anesthesiologists, scrub nurses, surgical nurses, anesthesiology nurses, Pathologists, and eveyone else that was in that room with me for 13 hours. I could never thank everyone enough. My cancer is gone and I feel great!
Love to all!
